Success! You have shared your Yahoo! information
Monday, February 6, 2012
You're probably reading this because you received an email like this:
Hi [name], You agreed to share your Yahoo! information with dzhang for contacts. If you did not agree to share your information, stop sharing [link]. Regards, Yahoo! Account Services
I'm just an individual with a domain name that happens to be the same as a string found in that email. While I'm not the one invading your address book, I can try pointing you in the right direction.
As much as I dislike Yahoo! Answers, it actually seems to have the correct explanation for this problem. It looks like Samsung is a culprit here, so if you want this to stop, don't access your Yahoo! account using a Samsung app and/or tell Samsung to fix their broken software.
Edit: Based on the comments here saying it's not Samsung-specific, I'm guessing it might be some third-party app that can be installed on these devices.
Edit2: Here is an official page from Yahoo regarding the issue.

I have an LG, same issues, changed password after removing it from contacts, now my LG can't log into yahoo. So it is not Yahoo, since it shows up as yahoo on contacts, it's not the phone brand, since different brands are affected. By reason, it has to be the app on the cell phone.

Hi there....I have a Samsung Admire with MetroPCS service. I recently added mail@metropcs that consolidates all my external emails into one place, I'm thinking that may be the problem. I'll try contacting Metro today to report the problem.
Good luck!! Take care.
P.S. LOVE the dog...German Shepherd mix? I have a 5 year old German Shepherd I'm so in love with.

This is happening after the app trys to get email contacts from yahoo. these are contacts not stored on your phone. With some phones you have to select "get contacts online" for this to happen. You are sharing your yahoo contacts with the app on your phone.

I have recently up graded my phone to the Galaxy and when I indicated that I needed my emails to be sent to my phone via the built in APP, I started having this issue. I deleted my account and downloaded the actual yahoo APP and that seems to make the issue stop... Hope it works for you...

We have hacked your website https://dzhang.com and extracted your databases.
How did this happen?
Our team has found a vulnerability within your site that we were able to exploit. After finding the vulnerability we were able to get your database credentials and extract your entire database and move the information to an offshore server.
What does this mean?
We will systematically go through a series of steps of totally damaging your reputation. First your database will be leaked or sold to the highest bidder which they will use with whatever their intentions are. Next if there are e-mails found they will be e-mailed that their information has been sold or leaked and your site https://dzhang.com was at fault thusly damaging your reputation and having angry customers/associates with whatever angry customers/associates do. Lastly any links that you have indexed in the search engines will be de-indexed based off of blackhat techniques that we used in the past to de-index Our targets.
How do i stop this?
We are willing to refrain from destroying your site's reputation for a small fee. The current fee is $5000 in bitcoins (0.043 BTC).
Send the bitcoin to the following Bitcoin address (Make sure to copy and paste):
bc1qel7v90m26e98a2mlgka5t2087wxk733ssv6u7h
Once you have paid we will automatically get informed that it was your payment. Please note that you have to make payment within 5 days after receiving this e-mail or the database leak, e-mails dispatched, and de-index of your site WiLL start!
How do i get Bitcoins?
You can easily buy bitcoins via several websites or even offline from a Bitcoin-ATM.
What if i don't pay?
We will start the attack at the indicated date and uphold it until you do, there's no counter measure to this, you will Only end up wasting more money trying to find a solution. We will completely destroy your reputation amongst google and your customers.
This is not a hoax, do not reply to this email, don't try to reason or negotiate, we will not read any replies. Once you have paid we will stop what we were doing and you will never hear from us again!
Please note that Bitcoin is anonymous and no one will find out that you have complied.

It is not only Samsung. I do not have a Samsung phone or apps and it is happening to me.
